How much can I withdraw each month?
Enter your savings and how many years they need to last. It finds the monthly withdrawal that runs the balance down to about zero at the end.
Assumptions
- Withdrawals are taken at the start of each month; growth is compounded monthly at a steady rate.
- Amounts are before tax. RRSP/RRIF withdrawals are taxable income; TFSA withdrawals are not.
- From age 72 a RRIF has a required minimum each year; see the RRIF minimum calculator.
- CPP and OAS are on top of this. See the "How much do I need to retire?" calculator for 2026 amounts.
General information, not financial advice. This calculator gives rough estimates from simplified assumptions. It does not know your full situation. Check with a qualified professional and the official sources before making decisions.
