How long will my savings last?
Enter your savings and what you plan to take out each month. It shows how long the money lasts and the balance year by year.
Assumptions
- Withdrawals are taken at the start of each month; growth is compounded monthly at a steady rate. A bad market early in retirement can shorten this a lot.
- Amounts are before tax. The first-year withdrawal rate is shown as a rough check; around 4% is a common rule of thumb, not a guarantee.
- CPP and OAS reduce what you need to withdraw. See the "How much do I need to retire?" calculator for 2026 amounts.
General information, not financial advice. This calculator gives rough estimates from simplified assumptions. It does not know your full situation. Check with a qualified professional and the official sources before making decisions.
