Simple Canadian income tax calculator (2026)
Enter your yearly employment income and province. You get your estimated 2026 income tax, CPP and EI, and your take-home pay. Need dividends, self-employment or capital gains? Use the detailed income tax calculator.
Assumptions
- Salary or wages only, one employer, full year, single person under 65.
- Only the basic personal amount, Canada employment amount, CPP and EI credits are claimed.
- Take-home pay = income minus income tax, CPP and EI. Other payroll deductions (pension plan, benefits, union dues) are not included.
- Marginal rate is the tax on your next dollar of pay, including the effect of credits and surtaxes.
Estimate only, not tax advice. This calculator uses 2026 federal and provincial rates and common credits for a single person with no dependants. It leaves out many credits and deductions (spouse, dependants, tuition, medical, donations, disability, low-income reductions outside Ontario and BC, AMT, OAS clawback and refundable benefits). Your actual tax return or payroll deductions can differ. Quebec is not supported because it has its own tax system.
